3 1/2 months

Wow, 3 1/2 months already!!

Preston is doing wonderful. He is still a happy happy boy, and we discovered he is pretty flirtatious, stranger or no stranger! He continues to change and entertain us with his every move. This week he discovered the TV, and really enjoys watching it no matter what's on. He must get that from his daddy. Today Chris and I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest. We had planned on getting a sitter for Preston, but it was a little difficult for a midday date. So he came with us and of course enjoyed the big screen. One part of the movie actually made him jump, but it made Chris jump too. What else is new with him? ..... Oh, he still isn't real interested in rolling over. He lays on his stomach and rolls half way to his side and then back on his stomach moving his arms and legs the whole time as if he were swimming. When he's on his back he uses his feet to scoot around, usually doing a complete 360, or he scoots backwards. Silly boy. He really likes to stand up too. He started teething this week. He ran a low fever for a couple of days and was a little cranky, or "Mr. Fussypants" as his Uncle Jay calls him when he is sleepy. Since he's teething he's also a little drool monster most of the time now, but the crankiness and fever are over for now. His two teeth on top are close to the surface, but who knows when they'll actually make their grande appearance. For now he enjoys sucking and gnawing on his fingers, our knuckles, or his pacifier (he never would suck on it, but at least its useful for something now).
We had no special celebration for the 4th. Monday I was running fever and not feeling well, and then the next two days Preston was running fever because of his teeth. On the 4th Chris worked all day and into the night organizing and printing all the information for the Church Anatomy classes. For the next 4 weeks at church we are offering a class before worship called Church Anatomy 101. It deals with Beliefs, Organization, Disciplines, and You (BODY). Basically teaching what CWOW believes, how its organized, and how you can serve and stay healthy using gifts and talents God gave you. This whole month our emphasis is on Discipleship, one of the 5 purposes of the church. This particular Sunday our emphasis is on Trust Small Groups, or our bible study groups that meet in homes for those who don't go to CWOW. We like to say its the people we do life with. Its exciting that our groups are starting back up this month after taking a break the whole month of July. We have several new leaders and groups this time, and it'll be exciting to see how the groups grow over the next term as they reach new people.
Our uth (youth) are going on their Summer Retreat this coming week and Chris and I (and Preston, ha ha) are going as chaperones. We're meeting up with the uth from Minden. Chris is bringing the boat so he'll be able to pull some uth all over the lake however they wish to go...skiis...tube......tow-a-bull...it should be great fun.
