We've already begun our Christmas celebrations a little early! This season instead of spending one extended time with part of the family, we've been so happy to be able to travel and see nearly all of the family!! Last weekend we traveled to East Texas and saw all of my (Shell's) grandparents. We stayed with my grandparents Friday night. Jay and Danielle came up too. Jon just started his new job at Texas Roadhouse and wasn't able to get off, and Rachael moved back from California (yay!) getting in Friday night. So Jon and Rachael weren't able to make it this trip. Saturday morning my cousins Jeff and Vanessa and their little boy, Austin, made it for breakfast. We enjoyed our short visit with them, and then headed on to my cousin Jenny's graduation party. She graduated from Nursing school Friday afternoon, and we couldn't make it in time. My Nanny brought hot tamales straight from South Texas when she came and they were oh so delicious!!! Jenny had a great party with lots of friends and family coming to show their love and support. We visited with my Aunt Pam and Uncle Gerald, cousins Nate and Jenny, Nanny, and we even ran into an old friend we went to school with in Liberty City! We ate, enjoyed each other's company, and even had time for a few games before we decided to hit the road and get home before it got too late. We spent Saturday night in our own beds, went to church Sunday morning, then headed to Baton Rouge to see Chris' grandparents. We had a great visit with them. Chris' parents joined us, and we had a yummy dinner all together. Monday morning we drove home so that Chris could get an early start on laying some new flooring for a friend. So, we saw all of our grandparents in one weekend, and Preston saw all of his great grandparents in one weekend! That's pretty special.

And for the Preston update: He's got 6 teeth now. We are very thankful for him to have those new teeth because he is sleeping all night again. He's very confident at standing on his own. He's been such a good traveler for us. Right now he is into the Djembe (jim-bay: a drum). Its been at the house because Chris played it on Sunday since our regular drummer is on Christmas vacation. He loves banging on it. I guess I better get a picture of it. His other new thing is trying to crawl behind the refrigerator. He is very attracted to the broom, and I hide it between the frig and the wall.... so he squeezes in there to reach the broom leaving only his feet in view. Its very funny...

We took lots of pictures this past weekend, and you can view them in my Mom's web album. Click on the link below and then click on Pre Christmas and Thanksgiving: http://picasaweb.google.com/DChiz57

Good post. It was good seeing everyone last weekend.
I loved all the pictures...but especially the one with just his feet sticking out. Too funny. Hope you and Chris and Mr. Preston have a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Tell Mr. Preston I hope that Santa is good to him. What a lucky boy he is to have so many wonderful grandparents to love him. Elaine (aka Nan E)
I know all those great-grandparents sure did enjoy seeing Preston. I loved all the pictures and already checked out all the ones in your mom's web album too. I love the last one here though, where his little bottom won't quite make it all the way into the space. Too cute!
I just happened to check. Didn't think you would get the time to do the blog yesterday. You are one busy person. I love these new pictures with the frig. Great update! Wish we could be there.
Talk to you later!
Love,
Mom
