Happy happy birthday Clint! 8 years old already. At 8 years old Clint is a good brother, very helpful around the house, loves playing out with friends, is a fantastic swimmer, and a hard worker. He makes fantastic sound effects and is the one who is always making us laugh. He loves Sugar (our dog) and she sleeps in his bed just about every night. He likes to play with Cara and help or teach her things. His favorite part of the school day is math. Chris and I are very proud of him!!
This year's birthday celebration was a little different. I had to travel on January 14th to Fairbanks since the last month of pregnancy its recommended you be near the hospital to 'wait for the baby'. Chris and the kids were staying home for 10 more days, giving me a break.
So Clint opened some birthday gifts early so I could be around for it...
He also had a very wiggly tooth that was being a little stubborn about coming out. Chris and Clint worked on wiggling that tooth every night after I left and finally got it out the night before his birthday. It was about time! The adult tooth was trying to come in right in front of it!
Yep, that's me about to pop, and Evelyn planning to come early but not telling anyone.
Chris and the kids flew in on Saturday, the 23rd, Clint's/Chris' birthday. I was staying at our friends' guest house and they landed right on the private air strip right in the 'backyard'. The kids were excited to be in town and we were all excited to 'wait for Evelyn'.
We had told Clint we'd celebrate his birthday by going and doing something fun once he got to town and he picked bowling. Clint had fun learning to bowl, and he liked helping Cara bowl. I had a good time watching, hah! He also wanted to go shopping to spend his birthday money, which led to the purchase of a nerf crossbow. We grabbed some pizza- Clint's choice-before heading back to our home away from home for the night.
Clint picked out this fabulous chocolate cake that we all enjoyed and Preston remembered to get candles while we were still at the store. Good job Preston!
We had a fun time celebrating Clint! But we were all exhausted. Chris and the kids were tired from getting ready to travel, and then traveling. And I was tired because that's the way it is in that phase of pregnancy. So we all fell asleep the instant our heads hit the pillow.
Sunday morning we went to Radiant church, and Chris was preaching. I was feeling extra tired after church so we passed up offers to be with friends for the afternoon. That night we went out to dinner at the Silver Gulch, Chris' favorite restaurant, so he could get a little birthday celebration in too. He still says Clint stole his birthday.
We thought we'd have a few weeks to do more fun outings like ice skating and the movie theater before Evelyn arrived, but she had a different plan. But that story is for the next post.

Been waiting for a new post. Was also wondering when you might ever get time. Love the pics of everything y'all did. The plane in the snow was too cool. I'm so glad y'all got to celebrate. Evelyn didn't want to miss out on anything. She is such a cutie. It was fun to see more pics. Can't wait for the next posts!
Wonderful post. We always enjoy reading them and seeing the pictures. Thank you, Nonna&Papa
