April 8th we celebrated Preston turning 10 and Cara turning 6. They still do not mind sharing a birthday party, which is great because one party is easier to plan than 2!
This year we decided to play Minute to Win It Games. Most of them were 'bush friendly' meaning they required common household items to play. The idea is that each competitor has one minute to complete the challenge. Like in the Cookie Monster game, each player puts an oreo on their forehead and has one minute to get into his/her mouth without using hands. Or the Elephant March, where each player wears a pair of pantyhose on their head with a tennis ball in the end and has one minute to swing it and knock over 5 cans of soda on the ground. The kids were all good sports and had fun with all the different mini-games. We also had cupcake toppings out so each kid could decorate their own cupcake.
Preston lost a tooth while chewing a piece of candy. It was funny because he didn't realize it was loose, so he wondered why he had something hard in his candy. Turns out it was his tooth!

Its always difficult to get the candles to light with the wind!
Singing Happy Birthday
Bean Suck Game:Using a straw, suck beans from the table and drop them into a bowl. The player who gets the most in one minute wins.

Sounds like a cool party. Good ideas with the game. Looks like everyone had a great time. The cupcakes looked really cute. Well, we didn't get to see Cara's since she ate hers before the picture. Preston's was very interesting. Looked like great weather. Can't believe Preston had a loose tooth and didn't know. Glad he saw it and felt it and didn't swallow it.
