Memorial Day

Hello hello, and Happy Memorial Day to all!

We have no special plans on this fine day. Chris is off on Mondays and today he has gone to north LA to help Jay and Danielle move their things to Lafayette. Hopefully, they can get everything here without it getting too wet since the forecast is calling for lots of rain this afternoon.

This past weekend we went to a graduation party for some highschool graduates and Chris was a counselor at the Livin' It Skate Tour at the Cajundome. It was a part of the state fair. Steven Baldwin was there. They had lots of skaters and BMXers, and near the end of the show they have an evangelistic speaker.

Preston is doing well. I think he's finally starting to get a schedule down. Last night he ate at 9:00, went to sleep at 9:45, woke up at 5:00 this morning to eat, and then went back to sleep until 8:00. It was wonderful. He's pretty good about sleeping for at least a 6 hour stretch at night, but it usually doesn't coincide with our sleep schedule. He has changed so much just since last week. Now he can hold his head up and steady for long periods of time. He's cooing and making all kinds of fun noises. He has decided that he really doesn't enjoy taking a bottle, but prefers mom instead. He has a little temper and shows it off whenever Chris tries to give him a bottle. Yesterday he did much better. While he was in the nursery at church he did take his bottle, but only after throwing a small fit and scratching his face! (we had cut his nails the night before, but didn't know they were so sharp!) If the milk is really warm, he will take it with only a little fuss.

This week my parents are leaving for Doha, Qatar. (If you don't know where that is, look it up on the map. HINT: its close to Saudi Arabia). My dad has been working over there for a few months now on a rotation. He's home now, but when he goes back he will be living there with 6 wks. vacation a year. Mom is moving with him. I know they'll miss Preston so much. We'll be spending some time with them each day until they leave on Thursday. Then we will see them again in September at Jay and Danielle's wedding.

Until next time.....

Love to all
Shell and Chris
