We finally figured out this blog, we think. Anyways, today Preston is 8 weeks old. We can hardly believe it. He's smiling a lot now-especially when Mom or Dad are talking to him-and he's even starting to coo. We go to the doctor next week for his first shots, and we'll find out how much he weighs and everything. So far in the first 8 weeks he's proven to be a very easy baby.
He's met grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and great-aunts and uncles, and of course lots of friends. In June he'll meet his cousins!

We took him on his first trip last weekend, and he did great.Up until last week he really hated the car seat, so we were nervous about the drive to North Louisiana. We were able to take Sunday off and make it a long weekend. It was so nice to take a break and relax. Thursday we went to Minden and stayed with Shane and Jeannine and Claire-we miss them so much!!! It was a very short overnight visit, but we wouldn't trade it for anything! Then, Friday, it was on to Ruston. We had lunch with Jamie and Brian and met their new bundle of joy. Maddox is about a month younger than Preston, and almost as adorable ;) . Saturday was Jay and Danielle's graduation from Louisiana Tech University. It was a wonderful celebration, probably the most enjoyable graduation I've been to! Congrats again, Jay and Danielle. We also found ourselves in the middle of a family reunion on my dad's side. We all stayed out at Lake D'arbonne in a couple of cabins. We did some fishin' and lots of catching up with each other. It was great. By the way, Preston caught his first fish (while taking a nap). Of course, he left it for Daddy to clean. On our drive home, Monday, we stopped by to visit Chris' Uncle Troy. He is 86 and doing very well. We haven't seen him in about 3 years, so it was good to visit for a bit. He was glad to see us and meet Preston. So, Preston had a huge weekend and slept 2 days in a row just catching up from all the fun.

We've had a pretty laid back week so not much else to tell for now. Hopefully, we'll update more frequently from now on.
Love yall
Shell and Chris
