Christmas pics

Here's some of our pictures from Christmas. We had a wonderful time with family.

Christmas morning Preston was extremely sad that it didn't snow. He'd had this idea in his head for a couple of weeks...that it snows on Christmas Day. About a week before Christmas I had carefully tried to help him understand that we live in the south and its highly unlikely such a thing would happen. Well, he disappeared after our little conversation only to return shortly and inform me that he'd prayed and asked God for snow, and He said YES! So I left it at that. He recovered quickly Christmas morning when he didn't wake up to a winter wonderland. We filled each other's stockings letting Preston help this year. He did well not sharing the secret gifts with the receiver (mostly!). And we also shared our news of Cara with the boys. Preston was really excited because he decided about 6 weeks ago he didn't need another brother because he already had one, and a sister is what he really wanted. I was surprised he didn't spill the beans with our parents before we got to, but he was extremely distracted with all the other fun Christmas Day activity. We spent Christmas morning at Mike and Barb's snacking on appetizers and opening gifts. We had wrapped 2 gifts for Cara from us that we planned to have each of our parents open to reveal the baby gender. That was really fun. I got some pictures, but the lighting was horrible, so I didn't share some of them.

We drove back to the house for the boy's nap time, and a little rest for ourselves. Chris cooked a big pot of chicken and sausage jambalaya while we waited for my family to arrive. After opening more gifts, and again sharing our Cara news, Chris' family joined us and a couple more friends. It was fun to have everyone in our house enjoying a relaxing Christmas Dinner.

Mom and Dad spent time with us the weekend following Christmas. It was fun to hang out and play with the boys and all our new toys/gadgets.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
