Good Ole Lafayette

We had such a good time visiting Lafayette. We spent time with family and friends. We enjoyed being outside and seeing Mike and Barb's new house. The first half of our visit was really great. We did as much as we could in the time we had. We spent evenings and a Saturday with Jon. We brought the boys to see The Lorax. It was a blast. Then the second half of the trip the kids got sick. Preston actually developed bronchitis and an ear infection, and Clint and Cara had the nasty cold that caused it. We got some meds for him, and they were on the mend quickly other than a lingering cough for the last month. We enjoyed meeting up with old friends at CWOW for some ice cream and visiting. Gotta have some Blue Bell while we're south. Chris traveled to Ville Platte to preach the Sunday morning service. Barb and I stayed back with the sick kids, and we brought them to the doc. I was sad to miss the trip, but glad to find out more from the doctor about the kids. The kids rested the next couple of days, and one day we took advantage of that and all the ladies went shopping. Jason and Kim were in Lafayette for that part of our trip and so Amanda and Kim came with Barb and I. It was a grande day of shopping! We were also able to close on one of our rental properties while we were in town. The day before we flew out we were well enough to visit Great Grands in Baton Rouge. It was a very short, but sweet visit.

The kids had a blast dying Easter eggs with Amanda and Daniel and hiding them for each other.

All in all it was a fantastic vacation. We flew overnight for our travels home, but the kids did remarkably well. We just kept telling them to take naps, then we'd wake them to change planes or get to the next gate, then put them back to sleep...on and on and on. They did great. We spent one day in Fairbanks to visit the dentist and do a little shopping. Our friends the Seegers opened their home to us once again, and we all got a wonderful night's rest! The kids slept 14 hours. We couldn't even wake them for dinner. The boys we got to the table only to hear them begging to 'take another nap'.

You all do have to work in a lot while you are down here, but everyone loves getting to spend even the smallest amount of time with you. It is such a special time. I haves really enjoyed the posts as usual and am amazed at how well you do it. Thanks for sharing it all with us.
