Birthday season

It seems like in our house we have 2 seasons of birthdays.  January and end of March/beginning of April.  This second wave of birthdays fell during a very busy time with community events, wood cutting season, a big handful of other visitors, and a mission team from Louisiana.  Whew!  Anyways, on March 30th we had a family celebration for Preston turning 6.
Preston telling the story of the three little pigs for Cara and Clint.
In the afternoon we all went to a Biathlon to cheer on Galena students participating.  It was great fun, and a good weather day for being out and about.  The competitors cross country ski, shoot, then ski more before completing the race.  P hope he can do this when he gets older.

Preston chose shrimp alfredo for his birthday dinner, an awesome choice if I do say so myself.  Then we watched a movie as a family.
On April 10th  Cara boo turned 2.  We had a normal day and then for dinner we went to the swim team's Soup and bread fundraiser and cake walk.  These types of events are usually a big deal because its the closest thing to eating out in Galena.  Woo-hoo for a night of no cooking and no dishes! We didn't win a cake even though we all participated in the cake walk, but we did win a 6 pack of cokes and some banana bread.

Cakewalk Protip: Always choose the heaviest cake, that's the one where you know they didn't skip on butter.
