At the end of October the kids and I flew south to visit all of the family. Chris stayed home so that we could come. We traveled for a specific purpose, my grandmother's 90th birthday party. Chris would have liked to come, and it was a difficult decision to have him stay. I wasn't sure I'd be able to handle the long flights and overall travel time alone with all the kids, but they are such terrific travelers that it was really great. Its always exhausting, but God watched over us and even seated us next to people that enjoy children. I always pray we sit next to strangers that can at least tolerate children for 4 hours at a time.
We visited with Chris' parents first and unfortunately passed around a stomach bug. Everyone took turns having it except Mike and Cara. Because we were passing around that virus we did not go visit Maw Maw and Paw Paw Kopp in Baton Rouge. It was sad to be so close and not be able to see them. They were battling their own sicknesses already. Paw Paw is fighting cancer, and Maw Maw is battling pneumonia.
In Lafayette the kids enjoyed hitting up the old hot spots with Mike and Barb. They went to the zoo one day while I visited with my friends Brandy and Catrina. Our visit was precious, and the kids enjoyed doing their own thing with Nana and Popo too. Another day they got to go to the Children's Museum.

Nonna and Papa visited us one day while we were in Lafayette. We took the kids to a park and then had some lunch at an old favorite, Olde Time Grocery. We just happened to be having lunch the day a giant sandwich eating contest was going on. It was entertaining to watch. Jon was with us that day too. (We even gave the stomach bug to him but he was over it) The boys got to spend the night with Jon that night and he carved pumpkins with them. They had so much fun with Uncle Jon!
Cara had a tea party with Nana the night the boys had their sleep over with Jon. Cara got all dressed up in her new tutu and they got out the porcelain tea set. So much fun!
The day we transitioned to Katy, we stopped at this really delicious place in Scott. I forgot the name of it, but the coffee, breakfast, and atmosphere were really great. Our breakfast was beignets, eggs, ham, and grits. Loved, loved, the beignets!
We all had such a good time with Mike and Barb, Nonna and Papa, and Jon. What a blessing to be with family.

It was great to see the things that went on in Lafayette. I miss going over there. Looks like fun was had by all even though there was a terrible bug going around. So glad we didn't get it. Miss visiting with you guys. It was so much fun having you visit. Wish Chris could have come too. Hope everything is going well there. Noticed ya'll had a bit of a heat wave and Thanksgiving might not be too bad weather wise.

The place in scott looks like The Depot. Matt and I like that place..he gets his hair cut at the barber shop next door.
