First Swim Meet

Preston and Clint got to go with their swim team to the Northern area Championship Swim Meet in Fairbanks. I was thrilled to be with them and able to watch. 

The boys completed the lessons they needed to join the swim team last summer, and started practice in October. They have improved so much!

Here's Preston in one of his races. It was pretty difficult to get pictures of them from the stands so I mostly took video. Because the 10 and unders only swam in the afternoons, we had time for some fun too. The movie Home, was hilarious! We got to check out the new Children's Museum and still had time to cheer on the older kids in their prelims. 

We took these before day 2 of the meet. 

After 6 races in 2 days, these swimmers were exhausted. They so enjoyed every part of getting to be there. 

The awards were finally handed out and the boys were both surprised and excited to win a couple of medals for the under 8 age group. (Also that's their friend Milo in first place) With multiple heats of the same race it was hard for them to comprehend how everything worked. 

As soon as we were finished, we went to celebrate with ice cream at Cold Stone. This pic below is most of the younger swimmers on the team. The Galena swim team won an award for most improved start times. And Clint won 3rd place overall for his age group, so he has a jacket coming soon. So proud of our little swimmers!
